Horse racing is a long-standing and traditional sports event in the world. There are now many famous horse racing tracks, most of which are located in the United States, such as Parx, Lone Star Park, and Meadowlands.


Located in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, Parx was known as other names over the years. The horse race was established in 1974 with the name of Keystone Racetrack. It was changed into the Philadelphia Park after a decade and into Parx in 2010.

Parx is chosen to organize many famous leagues such as the Grade 1 Pennsylvania Derby and the Grade 1 Cotillion.

Recently, these races have attracted the participation of winners such as champions West Coast, Songbird and Untapable, and Will Take Charge.

2/ Lone Star Park

Established in Texas in 1997, Lone Star Park is one of the newest horse racing tracks in the list. With the first-class facilities, the track hosted many world-famous sports events such as Breeders’ Cup in 2004. 

The race featured the powerhouse performances of Hall of Famers Ghostzapper and Ashado.

3/ Meadowlands

Meadowlands was established in New Jersey in 1976. The horse race is considered as one of the premier harness racing venues in the United States. The horse racing events held in New Jersey, such as Hambletonian are harness racing’s version of the Kentucky Derby.

In 2018, the track opened a sportsbook following New Jersey’s legalization of sports betting. 


Established in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, in 2010, Meydan is the only horse racing track to be located outside the United States in the list thanks to its unique features.

Many top thoroughbreds worldwide have to make a trip to the UAE every winter to run at Meydan. The track hosted the Dubai World Cup, the world’s richest race, with a total value of $12 million. 

 Besides, many top horses of the United States enjoy the significant successes in the race, including Hall of Famers Cigar, Invasor, Curlin, and Silver Charm.
